Week Four: For Parents to Understand Teenagers

It can be tough to understand teenagers and why they do the things that they do. In the article, "Understanding adolescent psychology require buckets of patience!", it explains a major example on teenagers and why they react the way they do. Say that a teenagers mother went to their daughters room to clean it or look for something. When the daughter finds out, she feels very violated and mad at her mom because she doesn't feel like her mom trusts her. Its called lack of understanding adolescent psychology. Parents should have a good, healthy relationship with communication involved. Its the best way for all teenagers and parents to be helpful.

Also, in the article, "Understanding the Teen Years", it explains how teenagers are trying to separate from their parents to become more independent. In addition, kids start trying different looks and identities, and they become aware of how they differ from their peers, which can result in episodes of distress and conflict with parents. So parents should try to communicate with the teenagers to make them feel better.

Lastly, in the article, Adolescent Psychology. Youth and mental health. Parents have a huge role in the emotional and physical life, as well as a responsibility to provide direction, guidance, and strongness in family life and in appropriate and reasonable limits for youths. The way teenagers are raised affect how they are in the future. If they don't have adult figures, then they are more likely to turn to alcohol or drugs

In conclusion, parents play a big role in children's lives. When parents are interacted in the child's life, then the teenager is a more positive person.
